2 Moms or 2 Dads
I get really upset when I hear ignorant comments about homosexuals who will molest their children if they adopt them. I understand people are very adamant about their religious views but if they looked at the statistics, most molestation cases are by family members and heterosexuals. We have so many children in the US that are in foster homes and orphan homes that need loving parents, regardless of their sexual orientation. I think gay couples can give just as much love as heterosexual couples. Their life will be a little harder because of teasing from kids. Isn't it better that, at least they are being shown love and affection, than neglect and abuse from the foster or orphan homes? I am all for legal adoptions for gay couples. I think we should aprove laws that allow both parents to adopt. Right now it is legal for one gay parent to adopt. I think gay couples, because they are aware of the stignatism that comes along with being gay go out of their way to help their child feel normal.

I agree...people can be so ignorant. Love is the most important thing that a child needs. Homosexual people have the right to raise children just like heterosexual people do. It's the love that matters.
ReplyDeleteI might have been dropped from the class and all, but I still have to say, after a long time of not following the blogs, I'm glad you hit on this issue. As a homosexual man, I feel the need to birth a child as any person in this world, and if the only way I can is via surrogate, or other methods, i.e. adoption, I am positive the child will grow and prosper in an awesome environment with two dads. I've already raised two children (my sisters kids), I'm sure I can do it a third (or forth) time, without any form of abuse, and hopefully an end result of college, doctors, prosperity, and better.
