These past few months have been extremely frusterating! The month of March especially. It is the time of my annual exams. Luckily because of new rules I do not need a pap smear for another three years so I had that going for me.
Every year the doctors panic about the lumps in my breast. Both my mother and my aunt had breast cancer before menopause. I have prolific breast disease so I am watched very carefully. It is still nerve wracking when you have tests after test because the mammogram did not clear out breast cancer.
I also have a hiatal hernia so I needed tests to rule out surgery. I now have nodes in my thyroid and my surgeon believes it is the beginning of hashimoto's thyroiditis. An autoimmune disorder affecting the thyroid.
I also had my IUD removed so I had a period for the first time in 8 years luckily the PMS did not build up through the years and my husband did not suffer much.
It is now the beginning of May and I am not done with doctors appointments. I am afraid to make an eye appointment in case I will need further testing as well.

2 Moms or 2 Dads
I get really upset when I hear ignorant comments about homosexuals who will molest their children if they adopt them. I understand people are very adamant about their religious views but if they looked at the statistics, most molestation cases are by family members and heterosexuals. We have so many children in the US that are in foster homes and orphan homes that need loving parents, regardless of their sexual orientation. I think gay couples can give just as much love as heterosexual couples. Their life will be a little harder because of teasing from kids. Isn't it better that, at least they are being shown love and affection, than neglect and abuse from the foster or orphan homes? I am all for legal adoptions for gay couples. I think we should aprove laws that allow both parents to adopt. Right now it is legal for one gay parent to adopt. I think gay couples, because they are aware of the stignatism that comes along with being gay go out of their way to help their child feel normal.

Really? I am I serious? NO but there are times when I feel I am the only one doing work around the house, inside and outside! Yep it is that time. The sun is out. The warm rays reaching out and showing me where all the dust mites have been living for the last season. When it is dark and gloomy, you do not see all the dirt and dust in your house. Now I see smuge marks on the doors and window. Window tracks full of dead asain bugs and who knows what else is in there. Koi pond collecting algae and the lawn needing some TLC. Spring Fever is here!!!

Calgon Take me away....
I am feeling a little overwhelmed this week. I just started English 101 ( I had a c and in order to get into the Nursing Program I need a better grade to compete). I just started volunteering at Hospice once a wee and I also started back up with my real job. I was on Hiatus for awhile.
My husband tells me it is time to start selling houses again. We are tired of living on a budget. I know seems strange but we took a big pay cut moving out here in the midwest. My husband does not fly anymore so there is no more per diem. He gets paid extra for certain counties because the hotel and food expenses are more.I took a pay cut since the lowest house in California was $350,000. Add a 3-6% commission, I did alright.
I just had a taste of what summer is going to be like and I am not looking forward to it. The kids are out of school for Easter vacation and they had friends over spending the night and then staying all day the next day. In the meantime I am trying to keep the house in order and clean and trying to study and do homework as well. I am lagging behind and I am getting frusterated. I took on too many classes this semester and now I am regretting it. I will be fine eventualy but a trip to the Bahamas or Hawaii is sounding really nice right now. I could be lying on a beach sipping Mai Tias soaking up the sun. SIGH!!!

Are we really that complicated?
For generations and generations there has been the stigma that women are more complicated than men. Really? Do you think so? Do we have more hormones than men? No our hormones are different but there is the same quantity. Our body parts are different but cells are the same. Yes, we women have periods and we do tend to get moody and depressed at certain times of the month but my husband has them too just not at the same time, thank god!
Even though he does not get "periods" he still has the same emotional roller coaster that goes along with menstrual cycles. Our brain may function differently but it still functions. You say potato I say potato! I sometimes think my husband is more complicated than I am. He has a type A personality and things have to be done just right! I sometimes just want to symplify things, make life easy! Let us not even get started on the subject of asking for directions!
We have a car that has a built in navigation system. It is easy just put the address in and it will show you a map and give voice commands. How hard is it to turn left when the voice says "turn left" No no no my husband knows a better way of getting there than what the navigation tell him to do and what happens? We get lost!!! When we first moved here he took my car so he could drive to work. Every single day he got lost coming back to the hotel! He had the navigation system but did he use it? NO! He thought he knew the way. first time I forgave him but after a week I was getting frusterated with him! No we are not more complicated than men!

I am Indian Where is my money?
Why do we still have Indian reservation camps? Technically we didn't really steal land from the Indians since they were the first in America either. There are theories out there that claim the first people were from Siberia or Aztecs from South America. When the government first put Indians in reservation camps it was suppose to be temporary until they could sustain themselves. it was only suppose to last 25 years. Now we still have reservation camps, they have their own policing force, schools, businesses and laws. We pay for their healthcare and welfare system. They have casinos on their land that is not taxed, they reap in all the benefits. They do not pay for property taxes, state or federal taxes. Where is the justice in this? I recently read in the news that oil was struck on indian land so the tribe that owns the land reaps all the profit. My sister in-law's father works in a casino on a reservation. He tells me that the casino pays each individual indian $40,000 a year just for being parf of the tribe in the reservation, In reality they are being paid 80,000 because they are not taxed on it, they don't pay any other taxes. I am part Choctaw and Navajo, mu great grandmother was a full blooded indian. Unfortunately the courthouse that had her birth certificate burned down so there is no record of it. I would have liked my piece of the pie! I would go live on a reservation camp but I would not want to deal with the drunkeness and lawlessness they have there. When my grandmother died she could not be buried by her husband and daughter because she was white, my grandfather and aunt were part indian so the Apache let them rest there. My family had put aside a plot there for the rest of the family to be buried there when it is time but the Apache said no more whites on thier land. Technically we are part white but you can't argue with Apache. Don't you think it is time to get rid of reservation camps?

Are you really an American?
Here is my complaint. The US was all in an uproar when President Obama was seen not putting his hand over his heart when the national anthem was playing. Everyone accused him of being unpatriotic,I agree. When you are president of the United States, you have a duty to uphold. You are representing America to millions of people, the United States of America. You have a higher standard than anyone. In the military when they are in uniform, they have to salute the flag. It is required. Students in school are taught at a very young age to stand up, put their right hand over their heart and say the pledge of the allegiance. Olympian athletes are known for their strict patriatism to their country. I see Canadians singing their national anthem as they are standing on the podium after receiving a medal. I see Russians standing tall and proud. I see Lyndsy Vonn mumble through the national anthem not very well but her lips moved and she had her hand over her heart.. What I don't see is Shaun White who won the gold for snowboarding holding his red head high, put his right hand over his heart and sing the anthem. Isn't he representing America? Isn't he proud at that time to be an american.? We were so quick to judge Obama but Shaun has just as much to prove. I am an American and proud of it. I admit I don't know all the words to the pledge of Alligiance( it's been awhile) but I do stand and put my hand over my heart. A ten year old in Arkansas refused to stand up for the pledge of Alligiance and got in trouble with the school. His reasoning was because of the saying "with liberty and justice for all" He felt america was not treating gays and lesbians fairly. Other students have refused to stand because it has the word"God: in it and their are atheist. Does not being an American stand for anything. Whether you diagree or agree with the wording shouldn't matter. When you are saying the pledge you are stating that you have loyalty in America. It is an oath and a promise. If you do not want to say the pledge then get out of the United States! I am getting off my podium now!
